Do you add your strength plus attack? or something else
yah I know runescape is pretty sucky, I played awhile ago, but I just have the urge to start back up, crazy huh

You add str or attack or def and prayer
if your mage and range is higher then train those
You press on the first combat tab to find out your combat lvl

Honestly i dont like runescape either but i know how to calculate your total level. its in game if my account was still active i could show you im pretty sure its in the tab where it shows your attack defense and health levels, there should be somthing at the bottom saying total level or something i think thats it, just try asking someone in game, not everyone thinks your a n00b for asking questions because you cant learn if you dont ask right... but dont try to use logical thinking especialy if you playing with americans... being an american myself gives me they right to warn you how stupid most americans are, therefore they lack basic reasoning and call you a n00b for it. THATS RIGHT! YOU are a n00b because they are stupid. how does that make sense??? ill tell you . ONLY IN AMERICA!

Go to the first row where your inv is and go to the last icon the the left of it. It should look like 2 swords. click on it and in orange text. the larger text says what weapon your wielding, under it says your lvl.
