I have a Dell Laditude D600 Pentium M processor (1.6GHz).
There are two memory slots. I know what memory it takes (DDR PC2700 or compatible). I am not sure if I can have a 512MB and a 1GB in at the same time. |

Yes, but only if they run at the same speed (both DDR PC2700)

as long as they are the same type no problem, some memory can be mixed but can cause overclocking

Your best bet is to go to www.crucial.com and look up your system. It should tell you. Nowadays, computers arent as picky as they used to be with matching ram and such, but I've seen some weird stuff before. Good luck!

Yes, but if they're not the same speed they will run at the speed of the slower one.

Yes
My question is: "Are you running Vista?" - They recommend you to have 2 GB of RAM. - There's a sale on RAMs last month . . . |

Some motherboards need pairs of ram, some don't, check your specs. - check http://www.crucial.com/

Yes you can. But to ensure a better performance, use larger RAM (1GB) on the first slot, and the smaller (512MB) on the second slot.
IT will work fine without glitches if the RAM is using the same speed. Check your system with CPUZ, a free system processor checking tool. www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php |

Yes nowadays you can use two different sizes of memory. That wasn't always the case but usually is now. You want to try to have them be the same speed i.e. both be PC2100 or PC3200 or whatever but sometimes you can get away with different speeds now too. I would recommend that the speeds be the same though or you may witness quirky behavior.

Yes you can--I tried it once and it worked just fine--go to system in your control, if your system recognizes it, it means it is working.
